A Fall Daybook Post

Outside my window......
The day is beginning.  There is a chill in the air and today, there is sunshine.  Atleast for now.  The leaves are falling and it is definitely, finally, fall.

I am thinking about.........
How fast this years are flying by.  These years of homeschooling.  As we are beginning some high school courses with C-Sunshine and she is becoming so much the independent, I am sometimes just in awe.  And sad.  All at the same time.  What a lovely young woman she is becoming, yet I still see the "little girl".  And want to hang on to her (for dear life).

I am thinking about the upcoming holidays.  Arriving at lightning speed.  I am actually trying the Organized Christmas Countdown this year.  If nothing else, it gets me thinking every day about the many different things that need to get down, and can get done, if I do just a little each day.  I am actually having fun with it!  You might want to check it out.  There are loads of free printables to help you make a Christmas Notebook and stay on top of things this year.

I am thankful for........
My hard working husband.  Who has been spending a lot of time at work lately and on the road to provide for all his "girls".  Being a husband and father with four daughters can not be an easy task.   Even our dog is a girl.  Poor guy.  Hey wait, is that why he is out of town so much lately?  :)

I am clicking around.......
I am trying not to spend an exurbanite amount of time "researching" but have found a lot of lovely projects on Pinterest for Christmas.  I have been trying to find gifts for the girls to make for co-op teachers, etc..  I am thinking of Cookies in the jar or something along those lines.  Any ideas?

In the Kitchen......
I have been trying to do mini freezer sessions whenever possible.  I am not, let me repeat, I am not a once-a-month (all day in the kitchen) kind of gal.  I would love to be.  I just do not have the ability, time or patience (whatever it takes to be that gal).  Talent, maybe?  Anyway, I have found a few sites with great "dump" recipes that I have been using on those busy days.  Just "dump" them in the crock-pot and shazaam - Dinner!  Love it!  Here are a few I have book marked.  Baked In the South and Lynn's Crock Pot Favorites.  I will post more of these soon.

Around the house......
Some organization.  Some disaster areas.  Need to revamp the daily home "blessing" list and post those.  We are just on the go so much this year and our schedule changes weekly so trying to nail down a final "schedule" is proving difficult.  Also, does your house look great one minute and like a busy, crazy turned upside down house the next?  Yes?  Well, you must be a homeschooler!  We actually live in our house.  And if your kids are not school age yet, you are a homeschooler.  You just haven't realized it yet.  <>

In the learning room.....
So pleased with the way our learning year is going.  Things have "clicked" and both girls seem to be happy with what they are learning this year.  C-Sunshine is taking a co-op for Apologia Biology this year.  We are so lucky to have a Chem major homeschool Mom who teaches classes in her home.  C-Sunshine goes once a week for two hours.  This means.....no dissection for this homeschool Momma!  I have had no problem giving up high school science.  <>

See you soon!
