Got Texas?

Look what was in our mailbox this week........

This great postcards all the way from Texas!  Great additions to our postcard collection.
Each one with a little bit of history on the back hand written from Patty over at ReasonsForChocolate.  Thanks Patty and family!  We miss you!

On another note.....
Our Weekly Wrap up will be late because we are going downtown for
the Right to Life march tomorrow.  Bus leaves at 8 a.m.!  Too early for me to blog.  :)

It was a Whirlwind Week!

We just returned from a very fun trip back to Illinois to watch our eldest, Amber, graduate from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Congrats Ambie, we are so very proud of you!
Returning to Illinois was bitter sweet. It was as if we had walked right back into our life in Illinois. We got to see old friends and picked up right where we left off. The girls visited with a lot of their home school friends and even got to go to our former "House" group. (Home Oriented Unique Schooling Experience). I love that name. There was a lot of playing going on at the funny farm.
Besides seeing my daughter, my next favorite thing was seeing my good friend (Sister) Jennifer.
I miss her so much. We became friends when we first started homeschooling six years ago. She is the frick to my frack...the calm to my crazy. We just sat down and talked like it had been just 18 days and not 18 months since our last "tea party". You ever had a friend like that? Well, one of us has to move. And I vote....Her! It's cold in Illinois!

Cold Up There

After talking with our daughter Amber, I thought that I would write to all those we care about "up there" where it is REALLY cold and snowy right now. We are thinking of you. I also want you to know that it still gets cold down here. Last night it got down to about 20 and the high will be in the 30's. We have no snow, however, and I miss that. But I don't miss shoveling it! So, we will be drinking a cup of hot cocoa for all our northern friends! We miss you!
