Just popping in to say that we closed on our house last Thursday! We have been busy cleaning over there and are waiting for the packers to arrive here at the old house as I type. Hoping it all moves along quickly.
The new house is getting fresh paint and carpet over the next couple of days. We just can't wait to be settled. Thanks for all the prayers. Will post an update when I can. Can you believe I actually miss school?
Have a Blessed week!

A Late August Daybook
Outside My Window – The sun is still bright and HOT. It has been miserable here with the high 90's and low 100's all week. Can't wait until September. All I see out of the schoolroom window is trees. Lovely trees. I will miss this window when we move. We often see the deer munching away up on the bank outside.
In the Learning Room – Things are moving along quite nicely. We are in our third week of schooling, though it will be a short one. (See Below) Our plans for the year are working and I have been pleasantly surprised with how much K-Doodle can do independently. We are enjoying some Living Book reading together. I don't really like Faith and Life 3rd grade. I don't think that I did with Chloe either. WAY too much writing in the workbook. I think we are just going to read the text and be done with it. I would love any ideas you have on religion for 3rd grade.
Operation Relocation – We are all set to close on the house on Thursday at 11 a.m. Then the owners have 3 days to vacate (not sure why). At 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, it is all ours!! Lots of painting and cleaning will be going on during the week, while the movers are at our current house packing and loading. Then on Thursday, Sept. 1st, we should FINALLY be in our new house! All prayers would be appreciated. I have been calling on God's Grace daily during the past month. Praying for a peaceful transition. He has been faithful.
In the Kitchen – Trying to eat up what we have so that we don't have to move it with us or throw it away. Going back to Organic. Will post more about why at another time. I can't wait to get back to menu planning and being on a schedule. This having to eat up what I have has thrown me for a loop.
Summer Sizzle – Summer is quickly coming to a close. The house we are buying has a pool. We are hoping to eek out a day or two of fun in the pool before it gets too fallish around here. Falling leaves, etc... With the high 90's lately, I am not really worried about it. I think we will be having some splashing days ahead.
Praying for - Patty over at ReasonsForChocolate who is still a little queasy after finding out that they have been blessed with a little bun in the oven! She must have drank from the same preggo water as Sarah over at AmongstLovelyThings. I will be praying for these dear ladies as they carry those bundles of joy. Oh, I wish that season was not over for me. WAIT! Diapers, crying, all nighters.......I guess I will be satisfied with being a Nonnie in the years to come. My "baby" is now eight years old!
Thinking of – To much to list here. Trying not to think to much. Over thinking is not good for you and keeps me up at night. Every night. I can't wait to be settled. Did I say that already?
A Picture thought I am sharing……..

Relo update and prayer request..
Ok, so, we drug ourselves out on yet another house hunting trip (I know, I know....whoa is me...little violins, etc...) and we ended up finding two houses that we could live fit in. We are putting in an offer tonight on one of them, but have already been told that it has an offer coming from someone else. This house just went on the market today. So, we are putting in our (almost) best offer and lifting up our prayers to the good Lord. Would you mind saying a little prayer that this home sale goes through? Thank you ever so much.

On another note, did I mention that C-Sunshine now wears glasses! Yep. After months of her telling me that she thought she needed to go to the eye doctor, I finally listened. And boy did I feel terrible when she ended up with 20/50 vision. Because she is near-sighted, the Dr. said that her prescription could change rapidly. I don't wear glasses (except old age cheaters) so I was clueless about eyesight.
It was like watching a baby discover the world after she put them on. Everything was "clear". Leaves on trees, words on signs. Oh, what my "baby" has been missing and I didn't even know. Sorry C-Sunshine!

Cart before the horse......
This was suppose to be our new front door.
We were suppose to close on our new house at the end of this month.....
We made a lot of plans and took a lot of measurements.......
God had other plans. The house did not appraise and we are back to square one.
We are sad and disappointed and I must say.......a bit discouraged. This has been our hardest move so far in that we just can't seem to leave. We are resolved to the fact that we must go, but can't seem to find a home. People have moved on without us because they know we are moving, yet we are still here. We can't sign up for things because we know we are leaving. We can't sign up for things in our new area, because we don't know where we are going. We are...........in Limbo. And I don't like it.
I think I will go plan the next schooling year. I know that is going to happen. :)

House Hunters - Torture Episode

Why can't we just make a decision? My husband and I both suffer from a terrible disease. The "I can not make a final decision" disease. Shopping for major purchases is torture for us. We do fine with little things.... food, clothing, but give us a "major" purchase and we second guess ourselves right into the ground. It's awful! I gave up car shopping years ago. I just told my husband to go and buy something and bring it home. Well, he took me literally and kept driving the cars to the house to still have me pick one out. He suffers from the same disease. Maybe it is because we are born in the same month. :)
I am telling you all this because we are house hunting. And it is torture. What is normally a fun experience for others, is an absolute horror for us. When I walk through these houses, I can see "us" in most all of them. Some have been abandoned by their families because of foreclosure. I see the sadness there and actually feel sorry for the house. This is not good when trying to purchase a house. I want to buy the house to fill it up with a family again so it can be happy?
We spent the weekend in the area where we will be relocating looking at houses with the girls in tow. The girls picked out the house they wanted right away. It is a house built in 1987 on 6 acres with horses next door. No high ceilings, no granite counter tops. Just a very cozy house with a wood burning stove and a cozy basement with lots of "running" room. It had a long, winding, tree lined drive. We see "work ahead" everywhere, but still like the homey feel of the house. This is a short sale house and the lady who left while we were viewing her house had just cleaned. I could smell the bleach. You could see her family everywhere. She loved her house. She loved her family. Just a sad situation since it was a short sale. I know, I know, I shouldn't be emotional about a house I am just looking at.

So, help us please. Which house would you choose? Pick one out for us. PLEASE. Put us out of our misery. And yes, I have been praying for an answer. Did I say PLEASE already?

On the move.....AGAiN!
Well, this past week my hubby gave me the "bad" news, again. He is being transferred and relocated to a new city, very soon. I am sad. I like it here and have made some friends, routines and found a nitch. Now I have to begin again. And as I am.....uh.....aging....it seems to be more difficult to find "older" moms who are willing to take on a new friend. I am one of those mom's who is seasoned. My oldest is almost 24 and my youngest is 8. I need to find another...me...out there.I am trying to have a heart and mind of gratitude. I am grateful for all the Lord has given me; Family, housing, food and safety. I am grateful my husband has a job and is prospering in this trying times for so many. So, I am grateful......but still sad. Prayers welcome as we transition. Blessings.
