Sew What ?!?

The girls have had a marvelous opportunity to take a sewing class over the last few weeks from an older homeschool girl in the area we are about to move to.  I signed the girls up thinking that they would be able to meet some other homeschooling girls in the town we are about to move to.  This would make the hour and twenty minute drive (one-way) worth it.  Well, there is only one other girl, but WOW!.....what a fantastic instructor this 17 year old is!  What a blessing for my girls...cause.....Momma can't sew!
K-Doodle in action!

C-Sunshine sewing along.....

K-Doodle did marvelous!  At 8 years old, she was sewing like a 12 year old!  So independent is she!

K-Doodles complete her apron, but C-Sunshine's had a little more detail and she didn't quite finish.  I will post a picture of their projects next week after their final lesson.  They had a lot of fun in this class.

And you know, driving there each week has made the area become very familiar.  Comfortable.
Like a shoe that you are breaking in.

I think we are going to be okay..........

A reflection on turning twelve........

We celebrated the birth of C-Sunshine for the twelfth time by going to the local bowling alley, not to bowl, but to play miniature glow in the dark golf with family friends.

After golfing, the arcade was hit by a boat load of tokens being used to try and win those precious tickets for prize purchase.

After the games, we had pizza and snacks.

Then it was off to "The Mix", our favorite ice cream spot,  to create a concoction of yummyness........
C-Sunhine got sorbet!

At home, C-Sunshine had her annual "treasure hunt" for gifts and the traditional cake and ice cream with family.  She opted for a chocolate cake with chocolate icing.  We even found some scrumptious non-dairy cookie-dough ice cream for her!  Maybe being allergic to milk isn't so bad after all!

Happy Birthday to our C-Sunshine!

Twelve years ago, we were given such a precious gift.  A wiggly, beautiful, blue eyed girl that we named C-Sunshine.  I am so proud of my sunshine girl.  Not only is she totally gorgeous on the outside, especially sportin' those new glasses, but she is beautiful on the inside.  She has such a kind and loving heart.  She is smart and funny, crafty and caring.  She loves to sing in the shower and is such an excellent big sister to K-Doodle.

So, C-Sunshine....................Happy Birthday!  We love you!

Relo update and prayer request..

Ok, so, we drug ourselves out on yet another house hunting trip (I know, I know....whoa is me...little violins, etc...) and we ended up finding two houses that we could live  fit in.  We are putting in an offer tonight on one of them, but have already been told that it has an offer coming from someone else.  This house just went on the market today.  So, we are putting in our (almost) best offer and lifting up our prayers to the good Lord.  Would you mind saying a little prayer that this home sale goes through?  Thank you ever so much.

On another note, did I mention that C-Sunshine now wears glasses!  Yep.  After months of her telling me that she thought she needed to go to the eye doctor, I finally listened.  And boy did I feel terrible when she ended up with 20/50 vision.  Because she is near-sighted, the Dr. said that her prescription could change rapidly.  I don't wear glasses (except old age cheaters) so I was clueless about eyesight.

It was like watching a baby discover the world after she put them on.  Everything was "clear".  Leaves on trees, words on signs.  Oh, what my "baby" has been missing and I didn't even know.   Sorry C-Sunshine!

Cart before the horse......

This was suppose to be our new front door.

We were suppose to close on our new house at the end of this month.....

We made a lot of plans and took a lot of measurements.......

God had other plans.  The house did not appraise and we are back to square one.

We are sad and disappointed and I must say.......a bit discouraged.  This has been our hardest move so far in that we just can't seem to leave.  We are resolved to the fact that we must go, but can't seem to find a home.  People have moved on without us because they know we are moving, yet we are still here.  We can't sign up for things because we know we are leaving.  We can't sign up for things in our new area, because we don't know where we are going.  We are...........in Limbo.  And I don't like it.

I think I will go plan the next schooling year.  I know that is going to happen.  :)
